Chemical composition and characteristics: The chemical composition of 439 stainless steel mainly includes carbon (C), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), phosphorus (P), sulfur (S), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni) (extremely low content or no content), titanium (Ti) and other elements. Among them, the chromium content is between 17.0%-19.0%, which provides it with good corrosion resistance. By reducing the carbon content and adding stabilizing elements such as titanium, the intergranular corrosion resistance, formability and weldability of 439 stainless steel have been significantly improved. Corrosion resistance: 439 stainless steel has good corrosion resistance in oxidizing environments and is suitable for general corrosive media such as water, steam, gas, etc. Although its corrosion resistance is slightly lower than that of 304 austenitic stainless steel, it is still better than 200 series stainless steel materials. In addition, 439 stainless steel has similar or better resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments than 304 stainless steel, and its resistance to chloride ion stress corrosion cracking is also very high.
Heat resistance: 439 stainless steel has good heat resistance and can resist oxidation up to 920°C in intermittent service and up to 870°C in continuous service.
